General Information

Nutrition is the science of food, the nutrients in foods and how the body uses those nutrients. It includes the process of ingestion, digestion, absorption, metabolism, transport, storage and excretion of those nutrients. It also includes the environmental, psychological and behavioral aspects of food and eating.

This guide is designed to help you learn more about nutrition in general and to get you started on your research in the area of nutrition.  There are many resources available on this subject.  Some are listed below.  Keep in mind that you may narrow your search in this field by including other terms in your research such as Diabetes (or any other illness), Children, Academic Achievement, Food Supplements, Food Labeling, and much more.  Some of these sources are meant to provide general information, while others are geared toward advanced study in the field.
